Hokkaido Cream Stew


Hokkaido Cream Stew is a Japanese style chicken and vegetables stew simmer in a natural cream and cheese. This stew is an ultimate comfort food on a cold day which will keep you warm from inside out. Extremely easy to prepare because there are many ready-made Roux available in the market. Choose one of your favorite to prepare, I prepare this brand as the ingredients are 100 % Hokkaido's product.  Serving this hearty stew with a bowl of rice or bread.


Ingredients ( 2 servings)

150g chicken thigh
1/2 onion
1/2 carrot
1 potato
1/4 head broccoli
5 cubes Hokkaido Cream Stew Roux (12 cubes in a box)
400 ml water
70 ml milk
Little butter or oil

Ingredients: Chopped onion, potato, carrot, broccoli (pre-boiled), and chicken.
Ready made Roux ( also available in corn cream stew Roux) 





1. Heat the oil or butter, add chopped vegetables (except broccoli) and chicken. Stir fry them until becoming fragrant. (Be careful not to burn)

2. Add water, bring to boil, and simmer it in a low or medium heat for 10 minutes


3. Turn off heat, add the Roux and let them melt. Then turn on the heat again and simmer it on a low heat for 5 minutes.

4. Add milk at this point and boiled broccoli. Let them simmer on a low heat again for 5 minutes. The stew is ready to serve.
